New horizons open for 3IPK in the China-CEEC

The business opportunities between China and Central and Eastern European countries (China-CEEC) have increased by 50% during the last 7 years. China-CEEC Blockchain Centre of Excellence promotes the collaboration between established companies, innovative startups, top R&D institutions and governments. Moreover, the rise of technology transfer and promotion of Slovakia and other innovative countries around the world. Slovakia established the Centre of Excellence for research efforts for blockchain technologies with a strong support from Slovak government.

Memorandum of Understanding concerning development of first-ever blockchain-secured communication satellite system known as “SecureSat” was signed between selected Slovak and Chinese partners on 13th of December in Bratislava, Slovakia, during the first China — CEEC Blockchain Summit. The Collaboration of China-CEEC also known as the “17+1” platform reinforced business relations between China, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and of course Slovakia.

3IPK together with companies DECENT, Spacemanic and institutions like ZBOP — Security and Defence Industry Association of the Slovak Republic, Faculty of Aeronautics of the Technical University of Kosice and Slovak Organisation for Space Activities declared the will to cooperate and establish an effective organisational structure delivering the Feasibility Study related to the SecureSat project. The substance of the project is to secure satellite communications using blockchain technology.

It is great to see that innovative technologies such as blockchain may find their place also right at the edge of human endeavours — in Space. 3IPK is looking forward to work, together with the partners, to perform a study assessing possible benefits of using blockchain technology to improve cybersecurity aspects of satellite communication systems.

According to Juraj Zamecnik, 3IPK’s COO; “We are also keen to discover how DLT technologies could contribute to acceleration of Deep Space Exploration providing reliable, secure, traceable and immutable satellite/vessel communication systems for possible future interplanetary missions”.

We believe that the the Blockchain Centre of Excellence in Bratislava can provide unrivalled opportunity to perform such adventurous projects together with global partners.
